Stewardson Trinity Advances To State Tourney

Stewardson Trinity brought home the champion trophy in regional play after defeating Patoka 25-6, 25-11 and then St. Peter 25-17, 25-6 at Altamont Lutheran Monday.

Fourth-grader Anna Schlechte led with nine consecutive serves in game one of the Patoka match while Jocelyn Schultz followed with seven straight aces.

During St. Peter action, Becca Schlechte whipped through game two with 11 consecutive
serves. The girls came out tonight and played really well. Our serving was a major contributor to the wins.

"The girls moved well and just did a really nice job tonight," said Coach Ronda Schlechte.

Trinity is now 20-0. The Cardinals advance to SIJHSAA State at Herrin Saturday, March 23 meeting Thompsonville at noon.
