Three Area Players Named News-Gazette Honorable Mention

The 30th Annual Champaign News-Gazette All-State Volleyball Teams were named recently.

Named to the Honorable Mention Team from the area were Haylee Mathis (Effingham St. Anthony), a 5-foot-11 sophomore setter; Amanda Baker (Neoga), 6-foot-2 senior middle hitter and Kinzie Nielson (South Central), 5-foot-8 senior outside hitter.

Named to the First Team were Emily Becker (Belleville West), Emily Bemis (DeKalb), Lauren Carlini (Aurora West), Ally Davis (Hinsdale Central), Becky DeRuiter (Chicago Christian), Amy Dion (Huntley), Sam Epenesa (Edwardsville), Katie Gallagher (York), India Green (Quincy), Meghan Haggerty (Lisle Benet), Jenna Jendryk (Lisle Benet), Meghan Niski (St. Charles East), Ashley Rosch (Cary-Grove), Caroline Rose (York), Katie Roustio (O'Fallon), Brooke Schulte (Breese Mater Dei), Alexis Viliunas (Lyons) and Taylor Voss (Breese Central).

Named to the Second Team were Amelia Anderson (Crystal Lake Central), Meredith Boe (Bloomington Central Catholic), Mariah Coleman (Heritage), Julia Conard (West Chicago), Maggie Dunbar (Normal University), Shannon Foley (Quincy Notre Dame), Abby Gilleland (Woodstock Marian), Abby Heise (Springfield Lutheran), Ashley Holder (Marist), Marie Less (Decatur St. Teresa), Stacy Perinar (Minooka), Kristin Rauh (Metamora), Morgan Reardon (Joliet Catholic), Katie Urchell (Providence Catholic), Kelly Wachtel (Centennial), Laura Williams (Lyons) and Diava Wise (St. Francis).
