St. Elmo To Play For Title In EIC Tourney

ST. ELMO -- St. Elmo High School and Christ Our Rock Lutheran will square off for the championship of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Volleyball Tournament as both teams finished with 3-0 records after play Thursday evening.
In Thursday action, Brownstown defeated Beecher City, 25-16, 25-19. Christ Our Rock Lutheran won over Patoka 25-10, 25-20 to finish pool play at 3-0 as did St. Elmo who beat Ramsey, 25-15, 25-22. Cowden-Herrick downed Mulberry Grove 25-19, 25-9.
In tonight's matches, Mulberry Grove faces Beecher City at 5 p.m. in the seventh-place match as both finished pool play at 0-3. Ramsey takes on Patoka at 6 p.m. for fifth place after both finished at 1-2. Brownstown meets Cowden-Herrick for third place at 7 p.m. after both went 2-1. St. Elmo (25-8) then takes on Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 8 p.m. for the title.
