Effingham High School evened its volleyball record to 4-4 on the season with a varsity win over Teutopolis, 25-17, 25-17 Monday evening.

Stephanie Robb led the Hearts in aces with four and kills with nine. Shanon Daugherty had 11 assists while Josie Zerrusen and Daugherty had four digs each.

T-town was led by Katelyn Ruholl with 10 assists. Lucy Niemerg had five kills and four digs. Michelle Schmidt had three blocks.

In the junior varsity match, Effingham won 25-13, 25-11 and is now 5-1. A freshman contest went to Effingham 25-10, 25-11. The Hearts are now 3-0.

At Beecher City

Dieterich picked up two victories over Beecher City. Dieterich won the varsity match 27-25, 25-16 to improve to 2-3.

Dieterich's Candace Niemerg had 13 points, two aces, seven digs and five kills. Landriah Hardiek had two aces. Shelby Wendling led in assists with nine.

Beecher City was led by Taylor Danekas with eight digs, Kacie Hilt with six asists and Kirby Herrmann and Kirsten Buzzard with three kills each.

In junior varsity action, Dieterich won 25-13, 25-10 to improve to 2-3.

At Altamont

South Central came calling and defeated Altamont. Altamont won the opener 25-22 but the  Cougars came back with 25-17, 27-25 victories to pull out the match win.

Leading Altamont were White with nine kills and three stuff blocks, Wendling with five aces. M. Ohnesorge with seven assists and Ledbetter with seven digs. Altamont drops to 1-6 overall, 0-2 in the National Trail Conference.

In the junior varsity contest, South Central won 25-10, 25-15.
