Local Results from Friday Play at Crossroads Classic

Here are the Friday night pool play results from the Crossroads Classic Volleyball Tournament:

 

Effingham defeated Chicago Payton 25-22, 25-20

Henry Clay defeated Effingham 26-24, 25-20

 

Centennial defeated Cumberland 25-7, 25-9

St. Louis Ursuline defeated Cumberland 25-11, 25-15

 

Bloomington defeated Stewardson-Strasburg 25-11, 25-18 (for Stew-Stras: Kelsie Walden seven assists and three digs; Mariah Tabbert one kill and five digs; Lindsay Burton two kills, one dig, one block; Brittani Tabbert one ace, four kills, five digs and one block; Kendall Knop two kills and eight digs; Elizabeth Gratz one ace and six digs; Sarah Locke two digs; Coach Schlechte said, "The first loss of the season is always hard, but the girls were just outsized tonight.  We finally played better in Game 2 and put up a fight, but it was too late")

Valley View defeated Stewardson-Strasburg 25-10, 25-21 (for Stew-Stras: Kelsie Walden 15 assists and two digs; Mariah Tabbert one kill, one assist and two digs; Lindsay Burton two aces, four kills and one dig; Brittani Tabbert six kills and five digs; Kendall Knop six kills and six digs; Morgan Stremming two digs; Coach Schlechte said, "We played well during Game 2, but Valley View is just a really good team.  We had some longer volleys, but just couldn't get the lead.  We have to take these games to make us better for the rest of the season"; Stew-Stras now 4-2 on the season, 3-0 in the NTC)

 

The finals begin at 9am.
