St. Elmo/Brownstown captured the championship of the National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday at Stewardson-Strasburg.
SEB defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City then won over Stewardson-Strasburg who had beaten Neoga. Sigel St. Michael downed Effingham Sacred Heart and Windsor to reach the title match.
In the championship, St. Elmo/Brownstown lost the opener 25-21 but came back with 25-15, 25-16 wins for the title over St. Michael.
In the third place match, Stew-Stras defeated Windsor 15-25, 25-22, 25-19. The consolation championship went to Sacred Heart over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 25-20, 25-13. CHBC had beaten Neoga while Sacred Heart won over Dieterich to reach the consy title.
