Area Athletes Compete at Gene Armer Track Invitationals

 CHAMPAIGN --  Athletes from Altamont, Brownstownn/St. Elmo, Cumberland, Newton and Teutopolis competed at the Gene Armer boys and girls track invitationals Saturday at the University of Illinois.

Altamont's Ben Roedl did well during the meet. He captured second place in the triple jump with a jump of 43 feet, 6 inches. He claimed third place in the high jump with a height of 6 feet, 3 1/2 inches. He also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 8 inches.

Altamont's Hayden Summers finished fifth in the 400 in 52.57 sec.;

In the girls meet, Newton's Karasyn Martin finished second in the pole vault at 10 feet, 2 inches.

The Eagles finished fourth in the 4x800 relay with a time of 10:42.73 minutes. Team members were Layna Marshall, Avery Geier, Camryn Martin and Grace Schumacher.

Altamont's Ada Roberts took third in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 10 inches.

Newton's Sydney Kinder was third in the triple jump at 35-9 1/2 while T-town's Ella Neihls finished fourth in 33-11 1/2.
