Four school records fell for Effingham Junior High School at the Jasper County Seventh-Grade Boys Track Meet Monday.

Alec Morrissey set a new pole vault record of 9 feet, 6 inches. The old record was set by Bill Denton in 1988 of 9-4.

The 1600 relay team of Brett Koester, Terrence Hill, Marcus Pocrnich and Kody Line set a new record of 4:12. The old record was 4:18.04 set in 2009 by Leevi Baker, Kolton Woods, Tyler Myers and Austin Angel.

The sixth-grade boys 800 relay set a record of 1:58.9 minutes. Members of the team were Lucas Hegler, Layn Reynolds, Kendall Ballman and Zach Lee. The old record was 2:10.64 by  Dylan Wolf, Kolton Woods, Trent Barnhart and Gary Damron in 2008.

The sixth-grade 1600 relay team of Hegler, Reynolds, Ballman and Lee set a new record time of 4:57 minutes. The old record was set in 1974 of 5:01 by Brad Neet, Chuck Arnnold, Mitch Arnold and Kevin Gouchenouer.
