St. Joseph-Ogden, Tolono Unity Win Cow Chip Invite

St. Joseph-Ogden claimed the boys team championship while Tolono Unity won the girls meet at the Chrisman Cow Chip Cross Country Invitationals Saturday.

St. Joseph-Ogden tallied 68 points followed by Monticello 133, Tuscola 195, Tolono Unity 226, Uni-High 260, Robinson 272, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 280, Effingham St. Anthony 287 and Heritage 295. Teutopolis, Cerro Gordo, Marshall, Prairie Central, Villa Grove, Argenta-Oreana, Armstrong, Iroquois West, Champaign St. Thomas More, Tri-County, Cissna Park, Okaw Valley, Paris, Academy High, Judah Christian and Westville did not have enough runners for a team score.

Finishing first was Paxton-Buckley-Loda's Ryder James with a time of 16:21.1.

St. Anthony's Griffen Elder finished 13th in 18:11.2. Also finishing for the Bulldogs were: 23. Conlan Walsh, 18:49.7; 34. Gio Buccio, 19:23.1; 42. Aiden Braunecker, 19:56.8; 55. Nick Wiedman, 21:31.3; 58. Max Sager, 22:03.9; 62. Calvin Sudkamp, 23:52.7.

Competing for Teutopoils were: Oliver Lee, 21:39.2; Devon Probst, 21:48.7; Jackson Vonderheide, 22:11.5; Joey Lee, 22:32.7 and Luke Dennis, 25:16.0

In the girls meet, Tolono Unity claimed the team title with 96 points followed by Monticello 116, St. Joseph-Ogden 145, Uni-High 181, Marshall 214, Robinson 266, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 287, Tuscola 343 and St. Anthony 368. Also competing but not having enough runners for a team score were Teutopolis, Argenta-Oreana, Paris, Champaign St. Thomas More, Iroquois West, Oakwood, Prairie Central, Okaw Valley, Villa Grove, Academy  High, Cerro Gordo, Armstrong, Judah Christian and Tri-County.

Winning was Uni High's Kate Ahmari with a time of 18:57.4.

Competing for St. Anthony were:

Competing for Teutopolis were:

Olivia Copple, 23:31.6; Kaitlyn Vahling, 27:39.6; Aubrey Collins, 28>08.2; Katie Kingery, 29:36.6

Area finishers in the girls open were St. Anthony -- 11. Ava Faber, 25:35.0; 43. Carrey Goeckner, 33:12.7

Area finisher in the boys open was St. Anthony -- 30. Sam Deters, 25:16.8.
