Newton's Jamie Michels Second in 800

The Millikin men’s and women’s track team was back in action at Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. The Big Blue men finished in third position and the Millikin women were sixth.

Alex Kemp (Tuscola, H.S.) won the 200 meters in 21.94.  Kemp finished in second place in the 100 meters in 11.03 seconds. Dustin Roth (Hillsboro, Mo., H.S.) won the pole vault at 4.25 meters (13-11.25). Boone McIntosh (Fenton, Mo., Rockwood Summit H.S.) was second at 4.10 meters (13-5.25). Brian Cain (Indianapolis, Ind., Franklin Central H.S.) was fourth at 3.95 meters. Roth was sixth in the discus at 30.09 meters.

Drew Bandelow (Willard, Mo., H.S.) was second in the 1,500 meters in 4:13.25. Patrick Tharp (Decatur, Mt. Zion H.S.) was second in the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:17.73. Tharp was third in the 5,000 meters in 16:24.12. Trevor Crum (Heyworth, H.S.) was fourth in the 400 meters in 51.12 seconds.

Millikin won the 4x100 Relay in 43.02 seconds. Team members were Mike Blakely (Hazelwood, Mo., Hazelwood West H.S.), Dimitri Dunner (Markham, Hillcrest H.S.), Richard Long (St. Louis, Mo., Webster Groves H.S.) and Kemp.

In women’s action, Kindra Emberton (Niantic, Sangamon Valley H.S.) won the 1,500 meters in 4:52.11. Ariel Robinson (Decatur, MacArthur H.S.) was second in the 100 meters in 12.56 seconds and third in the 200 meters in 25.62.

Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) was second in the 800 meters in 2:24.34.

LeAnn Spesard (Paris, H.S.) was second in the Shot Put at 13.96 meters and eighth in the hammer throw at 39.77 meters. Sarah Bradley (Decatur, MacArthur H.S.) was fourth in the 5,000 meters in 20:45.42.
