Teutopolis Wins M-S Girls Track Invitational; Teams Compete at Charleston Invite

Teutopolis High School claimed the Mahomet-Seymour Girls Track Invitational with 93 points followed by Newton 73, Salt Fork 65, Oakwood 61, Sullivan 55, Effingham St. Anthony 45, Urbana Uni-High, Neoga and Villa Grove.

T-town's Emma Repking won the 3200 in 15:10.03 minutes and Anna Hartke claimed the high jump at 5 feet, 5 inches. T-town also nabbed the 800 relay in 1:57.0 and the 3200 relay in 11:23.89.

Neoga's Taylor Johnson won the 200 in 27.97 seconds and the triple jump with a leap of 33-2.

Newton won the 1600 relay in 4:34.55. Tara Wirth claimed the shot with a throw of 34-3 1/2.

St. Anthony's Elizabeth Falconburg claimed the 1600 in 6:28.75 and Sara Wortman took first in the pole vault a 9 feet.

Cahokia claimed the Charleston Boys Invitational championship Saturday. Cahokia tallied 78 points followed by East St. Louis 48, Belleville West 46, Decatur MacArthur 38, Edwardsville 35, Plainfield South 26, Harrisburg 25, Pekin 25, Springfield 25, Charleston 20, Mahomet-Seymour 18, Normal West 16, Prairie Central 15, Mount Vernon 13, Mount Zion 11, Salem 11, Mascoutah 10, Springfield Southeast 10, Plainfield North 9, Centralia 8, Collinsville 8, Olney 8, Highland 8, Champaign Centennial 7, Belleville East 5, Bloomington Central Catholic 5, Quincy 5, Effingham 4, Springfield Lanphier 4 and Champaign Central.

Effingham's Taylor Fatheree placed fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:02.89.

"Almost every athlete recorded a personal best," said Coach Terry Harbaugh.
