EHS Third at Highland F/S Track Invite

HIGHLAND -- Effingham High School competed in the Highland Freshman/Sophomore Boys Track Invitational Tuesday.

The Hearts finished third. O'Fallon won with 110 points followed by Salem 109, Effingham 86, Mascoutah 84, Troy Triad 71, Jerseyville 57, Highland 47, Waterloo 46, Freeburg 43, Lebanon 26 and Trenton 22.

"We had many surprises," said EHS Coach Terry Harbaugh. "Brendan Dawkins in the shot, Terrence Hill in the 100 and 400 and Brandon Marschewski's 1600 run. What a great meet for these young track athletes."

Hill won the 100 in 11.71 seconds and claimed fourth place in the high jump at 5-6. He also had a fourth place finish in the 400 in 55.56.

Kody Line was eighth in the high jump at 5-4. Dawkins finished first in the shot with a throw of 41 feet and took fourth

in the discus with a throw of 111-4. Ben Schuette was seventh in the discus at 102-2. Ashton Blunt took fourth in the shot at 39-2.

Alec Morrissey and Lucus Vasquez tied for first place in the pole vault at 10 feet, 6 inches. Line placed seventh in the long jump at 16-2 1/2. Jacob Miller was 11th in the triple jump at 33-4 3/4.

Jacob Bushue took third in the 110 hurdles in 18.92. Jacob Donaldson was fourth in the 1600 in 4:50.15 and Marschewski took 10th in 5:09.57.

The 3200 relay team placed second in 9:13.35. Members of the team were Kolbee Baker, Marschewski, Tyler Homman and Donaldson. The 400 relay team of Braden Hasty, Frank Schniederjon, Logan Smith and Line were ninth in 50.65.

Brady Mapes was 13th in the 3200 in 13:07.12 while Chris Schaefer was 14th in 13:17.29. Hasty was 10th in the 100 in 12.70. Homman took fifth in the 800 in 2:13.80 and Jake Woelfer was 19th in 2:41.87.
