EHS Wins Triangular Boys Track Meet

Effingham High School produced 72 points to capture a triangular boys track meet victory over Teutopolis 63 and Effingham St. Anthony 49 Wednesday.

St. Anthony's Andrew Gardewine led the meet in individual scoring with 15 points. Gardewine was a winner in the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches, the 1600 in 4:52.97 minutes and the 800 in 2:02.12.

Effingham's Billy Arndt and T-town's Drew Kowalski scored 10 points each. Arndt claimed the shot with a throw of 41 feet, 2 inches and won the discus at 119-9. Kowalski won the triple jump at 36-11 and the pole vault at 13 feet.

Other Hearts first place finishes were by Sean Zerrusen in the long jump at 18-1 1/2, Collin Hecht in the 110 hurdles in 16.28 seconds and Tristan Rhodes in the 200 in 25.10. The 800 relay team won in 1:41.14 and the 1600 relay team claimed the victory in 3:39.84.

Other Wooden Shoes first place finishes were by the 3200 relay team in 9:12.97, the 400 relay team in 48.01, Zach Mette in the 400 in 57.54, Riley Drees in the 300 hurdles in 43.17 and Lucas Probst in the 3200 in 11;03.70.
