Neoga Wins Girls Track Meet, Area Results

ARTHUR -- Neoga High School claimed a triangular girls track meet Tuesday.

The Indians won with 75.5 points followed by Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 59 and Cerro Gordo-Bement 34.5.

Jaycie Roy won the 200 with a time of 28.75 seconds for the Indians. Morgan Partlow claimed the 800 in 2:48.09 min. Vickie Alumbaugh won the shot with a throw of 29 feet, 7 inches. Olivia Ott was a double event winner taking the long jump at 16 feet, 5 inches and the triple jump with a leap of 32-10.

The Indians claimed three of the four relay events. The Indians won the 800 in 1:55.95, the 1600 in 5:02.2 and the 3200 in 11:39.0.

In the boys meet, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond won with 81 points followed by Neoga 65 and Cerro Gordo/Bement and 23.

Neoga was a winner in the 1600 relay with a time of 3:42.8. Kersey won two events, the long jump at 21-2 and the triple jump at 44-0. Abernathy claimed the 400 with a time of 57.65.

Robinson won a five-team boys meet with 139 points followed by Newton 112, Cumberland 61, Oblong 31 and Palestine/Hutsonville 24.

Volk was a double event winner for Newton. Volk claimed the 110 hurdles in 15.61 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 43.51. Also nabbing two wins was Riddle in the shot with a throw of 43 feet, 11 inches and the discus at 140-8. The Eagles won the 1600 relay in 3:33.35 minutes.

Cumberland's Beard was a double event winner. Beard won the triple jump at 38-10 and the high jump at 6 feet. Wolke claimed the pole vault at 13-6. Howard was a winner in the 400 with a time of 52.20.
