Tennis Players Wrap Up Fall Season With Tourney

Tennis players from Effingham, St. Anthony, Sacred Heart and Teutopolis fifth-eighth grades wrapped up their fall tennis season with a tournament Oct. 19 at Teutopolis Grade School.

Trophies were awarded for first and second places in girls doubles, boys doubles, girls singles and boys singles in both a beginner and intermediate division. Doubles partners wre selected through a blind draw.

Placing first place in the beginner division was Avery Rogers and Kayla Schubert. Second place went to Sauda Freeman and Rachel Sloss.

Placing first in girls doubles in the intermediate division was Claire Wortman and Megan Hodge. Second place went to Alison Kowalkie and Alli Brumleve.

Placing first in girls singles in the beginner division was Avery Rogers and second place was Averee Greene.

Placing first in girls singles in the intermediate division was Maryann Saba and second place Allison Kowalke.

Placing first in boys doubles in the beginner division was Alex Meyer and Clint Apke. Second place went to Noah Hemmen and David Meyer.

Placing first in boys doubles in the intermediate division was Bryson Wall and Hunter Stephens with second place going to Liam Hammer and Brennan Barr.

Placing first in boys singles in the beginner division was Parker Siner with second place going to Isaac McDonald.

Placing first in boys singles in the intermediate division was Jacob Pals and second place Liam Hammer.
