Murray, Stephens Advance At U.S. Open

(Flushing, NY) -- Third-seeded Andy Murray is into the second round at the U.S. Open. The Brit dismissed Michael Llodra in straight sets to move on to the second round. Sixth-seeded Juan Martin del Potro also advanced on the men's side despite rain suspending play earlier on Wednesday. American James Blake saw his career come to an end after a 7-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-7, 6-7 rally from Ivo Karlovic.  Blake previously announced that this would be his last tournament.

On the women's side, third-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska moved into the third round with a straight sets win. Meanwhile, her younger sister Urszula lost to 15th-seeded American Sloane Stephens in straight sets. Fifth-seeded Li Na also advanced to the third round with a pair of 6-2 set victories. Venus Williams was ousted 3-6, 6-2, 6-7 by Jie Zheng.
