Bulldogs Beat C-W in Girls Tennis

Effingham St. Anthony High School picked up four of six singles wins and swept doubles play in a 7-2 victory over Casey-Westfield in girls tennis action Monday.
Emilee Mossman opened with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles while Megan Hodge took No. 2, 6-0, 6-2. Averee Greene tallied a win at No. 5, 6-0, 6-3 while Evi Malone finished out at No. 6 with a win, 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles play, Kelly Rentfrow and Claire Wortman won 6-2, 5-7, 7-6, 7-3 at No. 1. Makenzie Koenig and Reese Buenker easily claimed No. 2, 6-2, 6-2. Mary Claire Wegman and Madison McWhorter went 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3.
"It was a good tennis match," said Coach Darlene Bloemer.
