Effingham St. Anthony went 9-0 against Hillsboro in high school tennis competition Monday evening.
The Bulldogs swept through the singles with Claire Wortman, Kelly Rentfrow, Megan Hodge, Mary Claire Wegman, Maryann Saba and Madison McWhorter picking up victories.
Rentfrow and Wegman were winners at the No. 1 doubles while Kristin Slaughter and McWhorter claimed the No. 2 spot and Saba and Wortman won at No. 3.
The Bulldogs also nabbed a junior varsity match, 8-2.

Effingham handed Newton a 9-0 defeat Monday.
Emma Kull, Chloe Funneman, Kyra Bannister, Megan Allen, Lauryn Douthit and Skyler Schafer claimed singles victories with the closest a 6-3, 6-4 count.
In doubles play, Kull and Allen were winners at No. 1 whiile Funneman/Douthit combined at No. 2. Miranda Johnson and Mallory Logan took the No. 3 spot.

The doubles wins went to Brumleve-Breer at No. 1, Hemmen-Smith at No. 2 and Julia Hardiek-Nicole Deters at No. 3. The Shoes are now 4-0 on the season.
