T-town Blanks EHS in Tennis, St. A Downs Salem

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School blanked Effingham 9-0 in tennis competition Thursday.
Winning in singles for the Wooden Shoes were Kaitlin Deters, Christa Schwinke, Lauren Hemmen, Sidney Brumleve, Audra Breer and Molly Smith.
Brumleve and Breer combined at the No. 1 doubles to win while Hemmen and Smith won at No. 2. Julia Hardiek and Nicole Deters captured the final spot. T-town is now 3-0 on the season.
T-town also nabbed the junior varsity match 6-0 to improve to 2-1.

At Salem
Effingham St. Anthony handed Salem an 8-0 loss in action Thursday.
The Bulldogs took five singles matches as the first singles match ended before a decision was made due to lightening.
Kelly Rentfrow, Megan Hodge, Mary Claire Wegman, Maryann Saba and Madison McWhorter claimed singles wins.
In doubles play, Rentfrow and Wegman combined at No. 1 while McWhorter and Kristin Slaughter were winners at No. 2. MaKenzie Koenig and Evi Malone won the No. 3 spot.
In the junior varsity contest, St. Anthony won 2-0.
