Cumberland Coach Marnie Blade must wonder about the oft-delayed path to the state tournament her softball team is taking.

First, the squad was supposed to play St. Anthony for their sectional championship on Saturday morning, but the game was rained out and postponed until Monday.  The start of the Monday contest was delayed and the game was relocated to Meridian High School in Macon, but Cumberland responded with a wild 14-10 win over the Bulldogs to reach the super-sectional.

Now, the super-sectional contest, which was supposed to be played Tuesday at Athens has been postponed to Wednesday at 7pm and relocated to Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield.

If Cumberland wins the Wednesday evening game, they'll have one day to gather themselves before heading to state tournament play in East Peoria on Friday.
