South Central, Teutopolis and Dieterich claimed softball regional championships Tuesday.

Class 1A St. Anthony Regional

South Central's Maddie Peddicord threw a one-hitter in a 14-2 victory over Efifngham St. Anthony in the championship game of the St. Anthony Regional.

South Central stepped out to a 3-1 opening inning lead and ended this game in the fifth. Peddicord threw a one-hitter with no walks and 11 strikeouts.

Brianna Buchanan led the way offensively with four singles and three RBI while Jamalyn Logan had two singles, a double and three RBI.

The lone hit for the Bullpups was a single by Julia Schultz. Gianna Frisbie had the lone RBI.

South Central advances with an 18-5 record to face Dieterich at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hutsonville Sectional.

Class 1A Hutsonville Regional

Dieterich edged host Hutsonville, 1-0 to win this regional championship Tuesday.

Dieterich now advances to the Hutsonville Sectional Saturday to face South Central at 11 a.m.

Class 2A Teutopolis Regional

Teutopolis captured the championship of its own regional Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes beat Jasper County, 4-2. T-town now advances to the St. Elmo/Brownstown Sectional Saturday and will meet Windsor at 11 a.m.

Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Windsor was a winner over Casey-Westfield in the regional championship, 6-3.

Windsor will now meet Teutopolis at 11 a.m. Saturday in the St. Elmo/Brownstown Sectional.

Casey-Westfield ended the season with a 28-2 record.

Class 3A Charleston Regional

Effingham saw its season come to a close with a 12-7 loss to host Charleston Tuesday.

The two teams played to a 3-3 tie in the first inning. The Mustangs moved ahead 6-5 in the second but Charleston tied in the third then tallied two in the fifth and four in the sixth.

Effingham had 10 hits led by Tessa Raddatz with two doubles and two RBI and Layla McBride with a single, triple and three RBI. Gieah Schlanser added two singles and Keagyn Koenig added two singles and an RBI.

Charleston advances to the Champaign Edison Sectional Saturday to meet the home squad at 10 a.m. Edison defeated Mahomet-Seymour 10-0.
