Softball Regionals Open Around the Area

Regional softball play began across the state Monday.

Class 1A Windsor Regional

Neoga saw its season come to a close with a 7-1 loss at the hands of Okaw Valley. Okaw Valley took a 2-0 first inning lead and and were never headed.

Amanda McClain pitched all seven innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out 10.

Neoga's three hits, all singles, were by Kristen Albin, Stephanie Roderick and Josie Taylor.

Okaw Valley advances to face Effingham St. Anthony today at Windsor in regional semifinals.

Class 1A Ramsey Regional

Beecher City-Cowden-Herrick's season is officially over after opening round play in the Ramsey Regional.

Raymond-Lincolnwood tallied 20 runs in downing the  Eagles 20-3. Raymond-Lincolnwood advances to face Nokomis today.

 

Class 1A Cumberland Regional

Dieterich trounced Martinsville 15-0 to advance in opening round play of the Cumberland Regional.

Dieterich, seeded fourth, will now face top-seeded Cumberland at 4:30 p.m. today.

 

Class 1A Noble Regional

Cisne was an 8-2 winner over Grayville in opening round play of the Noble Regional.

Cisne now advances to meet No. 1 seeded Edwards County (Albion) today at 4:30 p.m. at the Noble Village Park.

 

Class 2A Casey-Westfield Regional

Marshall handed Paris a 12-1 loss in the opening game of the Casey-Wesfield Regional.

Marshall will now have the task of facing top-seeded Teutopolis today at 4:30 p.m.

 

Class 2A Lawrenceville Regional

Lawrenceville picked up a victory in its own regional Monday. The homestanders downed Mount Carmel 13-3.

Lawrenceville will square off against top-seeded Newton today at 4:30 p.m.
