Wildcats Down Hearts In Softball Action

In a regular season softball contest Tuesday, the Marion Wildcats tallied a 10-7 victory over Effingham.

Marion edged out to a 1-0 opening inning lead but the Hearts came roaring back with five runs in the second. Marion tallied two in the top of the third and moved ahead with four runs in the top of the fifth. The Hearts tied the score at 7-7 in the bottom of the fifth but Marion scored three more in the sixth for the victory.

Both teams had 15 hits in the contest. Marion played long ball with four doubles and four home runs.

The Hearts were led by Tori Budde with two doubles, Sidney Donaldson and Mya Harvey with a single, double and two RBI each. Grace Bushur added three singles while Abby Cunningham had two singles and an RBI. Daelyn Dunston and Sawyer Atlhoff had a single and an RBI each.
