S. Central Wins Two, Newton, Dieterich, T-town Nab Softball Victories

The Cougars blanked Wayne City by a 16-0 count in four innings. South Central stepped out to an 8-0 first inning lead and never looked back.
Laney Webster and Halle Smith combined to toss a no-hitter with no walks and three strikeouts.
Webster aided her own cause offensively with a double, triple and an RBI. Lily Malone hit a single, home run and had four RBI. Taegan Webster had three singles and two RBI and Kaitlyn Swift a double and four RBI.
In the second contest, South Central tallied a 13-2 win over Altamont in five innings.
The Cougars held a 4-0 opening inning lead then tacked on a single run in the second and finished with eight in the fourth.
T. Webster threw an eight-hitter while walking two and striking out nine.
T. Webster had three singles and an RBI while L. Webster had a single, double and three RBI. Malone added two singles and two RBI and Jaylyn Michel two singles and two RBI. Brooklyn Garrett added a double.
Altamont was led by Ellie McManaway with a single, double and triple and Bailey Teasley with two singles.
South Central is now 19-10 on the season and returns to action Saturday in the Olney Tournament.

Newton took a 1-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Charleston 5-0 in Thursday action.
The Eagles tallied a second run in the third inning and finished out with three in the fourth behind eight hits.
Leading the way offensively was Allie Stanley with two doubles, Addy O'Dell with a single, double and an RBI and Ava Kessler with a doube and an RBI.
Kayla Kocher went the distance on the mound allowing no runs on five hits, one walk while striking out seven.

Dieterich easily handled Ramsey by an 11-1 count in five innings Thursday.
The Movin' Maroons whipped out to a 9-1 opening inning lead then tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth.
Dieterich had nine hits led by Brittney Niemerg with a triple, home run and three RBI while Kaitlyn Boerngen added a single, double and an RBI. Lucie Jansen and Estella Meinhart had a double and an RBI each.
Boerngen picked up the win on the mound, going only one inning allowing one run on two hits and one walk.

Teutopolis trailed Robinson 10-7 going into the seventh inning and rallied for a 13-10 victory Thursday.
Robinson held a 3-1 opening inning lead and led 7-3 after four. The Maroons held a 10-5 lead in the fifth. T-town tallied two in the sixth and then came up with the big inning to pull out the victory.
T-town ripped out 17 hits in the contest. Daisha Piedra led the way for the Shoes with a single, double, home run and three RBI while Erin Althoff had a single, two doubles and drove in three. Emily Konkel added two singles, a double and an RBI and Courtney Gibson two singles and a double. Olivia Copple added two singles and three RBI and Danielle Sarchet two singles.
Gibson came on in the sixth inning on the mound to allow no hits, two walks while striking out three for the win.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took a 2-0 first inning lead and led 6-5 after five but Martinsville came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 7-6 victory Thursday.
CHBC outhit Martinsville by a 13-10 count but finished with four errors.
Birgen Schlanser led the way for the Bobcats with three singles while Kylie Doty had a single, double and two RBI. Macee Rodman, Marissa Summers and Koda Colman had two singles each. Summers drove in a run.

Morgan Hance led North Clay/Clay City with two singles and a triple. She finished with three stolen bases. Kirstin Allen added a single, triple and an RBI and Chelsea Beck a double and an RBI.
North Clay/Clay City finished the regular season at 3-8 and 2-4 in the Midland Trail Conference.
