S. Central Takes Third, Dieterich Wins Consy Title In NTC Softball Tourney

The two teams went the first three innings without a score before the Cougars tallied two in the fourth.
Taegan Webster had control on the mound for the Cougars. She went all seven innings allowing one hit, one walk while striking out 13.
South Central had three hits, all singles by Laney Webster, Lily Malone and Halle Smith. Smith had two RBI.
Altamont's lone hit was a single by Peyton Osteen.
In the consolation championship, Dieterich's Kaitlyn Boerngen and Marli Michl kept Neoga from cutting loose offensively as the Movin' Maroons taliled a 19-4 win in five innings.
Boerngen started on the mound going three innings, allowing three runs on four hits, four walks and two strikeouts. Michal came on to finish the final two innings allowing one run, no hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
Dieterich, meanwhile, went on a tear offensively, pounding out 21 hits. Boerngen aided her own cause with two singles, two doubles and three RBI as did Michl with two singles, a triple and four RBI.
Other big hitters included Lucie Jansen with a single, triple and two RBI, Eva Meinhart with two doubles and two RBI, Brittney Niemerg with two doubles and two RBI, Megan Bierman with two singles and three RBI, Estella Meinhart two singles and an RBI, Courtney Brummer with two singles and Jadelyn Pruemer with single and two RBI.
Neoga was led by Trista Moore with a solo homer and Avery Fearday with a single and two RBI.
