Windsor/Stew-Stras Eliminated from Junior High State Tourney

A great season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the state junior high softball tournament for Windsor/Stew-Stras Friday, as they were eliminated 6-3 Friday morning at Champion Fields in Normal.

Ottawa Marquette posted the win, scoring its six runs on seven hits. Meanwhile, Windsor/Stew-Stras scored its three runs on just two hits. 

Ava Richards doubled in the third and drove in two of the Windsor/Stew-Stras runs; Sam Porter singled; Ella Kinkelaar, Stacie Vonderheide and Addie Wernsing scored the three W/SS runs. The other run came in the first inning.

Wernsing pitched for Windsor/Stew-Stras, walking two and striking out two.

Windsor/Stew-Stras finishes its season with an 18-7 record.
