Cumberland Trounces Olney, Stew-Stras/Windsor Drops Game

OLNEY -- Cumberland High School bounced Olney 15-4 in five innings via the 10-run rule Wednesday in softball competition.
The Pirates stepped out to an 8-3 opening inning lead and never looked back. The Pirates pounded out 16 hits in the contest. Taylor Layton went four-for-four with a single, double, two triples and two RBI. Lainey Jackson and Ashley Greger had a single and double. Jackson added three RBIs and Greger one RBI.
The Pirates improve to 4-1 on the season.

Arcola picked up a 4-1 victory over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor Wednesday.
The Purple Riders tallied a run in the first and added to that lead with two runs in the fourth and a final run in the seventh. Stew-Stras/Windsor scored in the sixth.
Madison Quast and Bayleigh Tabor led Stew-Stras/Windsor with a double each.
