Effingham St. Anthony High School edged Olney 8-7 in girls softball competition Tuesday.

Olney edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and held a 4-2 lead in the third and a 6-3 lead in the fourth. St. Anthony tallied four in the fifth to knot the score at 7-7 then scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the victory.

The Bulldogs had nine hits in the contest led by Niebrugge with a home run and an RBI, Woltman with a single, double and two RBI, Nuxoll with a double and two RBI and Koester with three singles. Mills had three RBI.

Schuette picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter with five walks and three strikeouts.
