Windsor Junior High School is heading to the Class 1A State Softball Tournament after winning the sectional championship Saturday.

Windsor handed Cumberland a 5-2 loss in the Class 1A Cumberland Sectional. Windsor improves to 19-5 on the season.

Windsor will face White Hall North Greene at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Class 1A State Tournament at Champion Fields in Normal. Other games include Pontiac St. Mary's against Ashland A-C Central at 12:30 p.m., McNabb Putnam County vs. Brimfield at 2:30 and Bourbonnais Maternity BVM vs. Buffalo Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. The semifinals and finals are scheduled for  Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the championship scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

 

At Teutopolis

Charleston claimed the championship of the Class 2A Teutopolis Sectional Saturday. Charleston edged Mount Zion 1-0 in seven innings.

Charleston advances to the Class 2A State Tournament at Champion Fields in Normal Saturday to face Ottawa Shepherd at 10 a.m.
