SWAT Fastpitch 14U Wins Robinson Firecracker Tournament

The SWAT Fastpitch 14U girls softball squad recnelty won the Robinson Firecracker Tournament. Members of the team are, Audrey Winters - Altamont, Keidron Duckwitz - Altamont, Brooke Burns - Altamont, Elizabeth Biggs - Altamont, Shelby Sims - Altamont, Arianna Kopplin - Altamont, Mackenzie Brewer - Altamont, Olivia Shipman - Newton, Kristen Hardiek - Newton, Josey Hyatt - Newton and MaKenzie Parkison - Brownstown. The team is coached by Doug Winters.

SWAT won its opener over Robinson Rebels 5-3 behind a 10-hit attack. Biggs had two singles, a double and an RBI while Duckwitz and Shipman had two singles and an RBI each.

Biggs picked up the pitching win on a six-hitter with one walk and one strikeout.

In the second game, SWAT pounded the Robinson Rebels 15-2, ending the game in three innings. SWAT had a 12-run third inning.

Hardiek pitched a one-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Shipman had three singles and two RBI while Biggs had a single, double and five RBI. Brewer added a single, double and three RBI.

The third contest went to SWAT over O-Town Strykerz 12-0 in five innings. SWAT pushed ahead 3-0 in the first then had a four-run third and a five-run fifth.

Biggs had a single, double and four RBI while Hyatt had a single and double.

The fourth contest went to SWAT 2-0 over O-Town Force. SWAT had a two-run second behind six hits. Hardiek pitched a two-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts.

Burns had two singles while Kopplin had a single and drove in two runs.

In the championship game, SWAT blanked O-Town Force 8-0. SWAT had six hits while Hardiek pitched a one-hitter with three walks and six strikeouts.

Hyatt had the lone extra base hit of the game, a triple, and drove in two runs.
