Teutopolis Wins St. Anthony Sectional

The Teutopolis Lady Shoes have won the St. Anthony 2A Sectional championship with a 5-3 win over Fairfield Saturday at Bulldog Field at St. Anthony High School.

Teutopolis took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and extended the lead to 3-0 after three innings.  Fairfield scored in the fourth to make it 3-1, but T-Town came back with two in the fifth to make it 5-1.  Fairfield scored twice in the sixth to make it 5-3, but Kadi Borries held them in check in the seventh to post the win.

Borries went the distance, allowing just one earned run on six hits while working her way around six walks and striking out seven.

Allison Apke helped the Teutopolis cause with a home run and two walks while scoring twice.  Kadi Borries singled twice and walked and scored twice, Anni Borries singled and scored, Danielle Repking doubled and singled and drove in two runs, Julie Wente singled and drove in a run, Chelsey Hardiek singled, and Renee Drees singled.

Teutopolis improved to 27-3 on the season and will take on Carterville, who won the Johnston City Sectional.  Game time Monday for the 2A Super-Sectional is 4:30pm.
