Centralia ended the Effingham Lady Hearts' season in the championship game of the Salem 3A Regional Saturday, 13-1.

The game was moved to the EHS softball field after too much rain fell in Salem, but it didn't help Effingham.

Hope Collier homered for Effingham in the top of the first, her 11th of the season, which is reportedly a single season record for the Lady Hearts.  However, Centralia responded with five home runs of their own, three by Abbey Holtkamp; a two-run shot in the first and solo homers in the second and the fourth.  Sammy Camevon hit a solo homer in the first and Sharlyn Lawson hit a grand slam in the second.

In all, Centralia pounded out 13 hits and drew four walks off Collier, who struck out three.

At the plate for Effingham: Madison Weis doubled, Collier hit the solo homer, and Kaylee Tonn, Brittany Beals and Katie Roberts each singled.

Effingham concludes their season with a 14-15 record.
