BEECHER CITY -- Effingham St. Anthony High edged out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick knotted the score in the top of the third. But the Bulldogs put on a hitting clinic and brought home 10 runs in the third, eight more in the fourth and ended the softball game 21-2 in five innings.
The Bulldogs had 14 hits in the contest led by Morgan Gardewine with three singles and an RBI, Jenna Woltman with two singles and two RBI, Hunter Niebrugge with a double and two RBI, Kate Richards with two singles and an RBI and Maddie Schuette with two singles and three RBI.
BCCH had four hits in the game led by Amanda Pierce with two singles and Kirby Herrmann with a sngle and two RBI.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis moved its record to a perfect 8-0 on the season by blanking Newton 11-0 Wednesday evening.
"Madison Cowman pitched a real nice game for us today," said T-town Coach Rich Niebrugge. "Our bats were ready to go from the start of the game."
The Shoes took a 2-0 first inning lead and went on to end the contest in the fifth via the 10-run rule. T-town had nine hits in the contest led by Allison Apke with a double, triple and four RBI, Kadi Borries with two singles and two RBI, Cowman with two singles and an RBI and Raegan Drees with two singles and an RBI.
Cowman pitched a three-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts. The Shoes are back in action today playing host to Altamont at 4:30 p.m.
Kerner had a double for the only extra base hit for Newton.

Greenville had nine hits and St. Elmo/Brownstown committed eight errors as the Panthers claimed a 12-2 victory.
Whitney Gray picked up the victory in five innings by allowing seven hits and striking out three. Pruett and Fitch led SEB with two singles each. Pruett added an RBI.
St. Elmo/Brownstown stops to 5-6 on the season.

Knop picked up the pitching win to improve to 4-1 on the season. She allowed three hits, no walks and struck out two.
Ferris had a home run and three RBI for the winners while Schlechte had two singles, a double and an RBI, Quast a single, double and two RBI and Cress with a double and two RBI.
Stew-Stras/Windsor is now 5-1 on the season.
