PAC Wins Girls Junior Tourney Title

The Premier Athletic Club (PAC) won the title of the Girls Junior League Softball Tournament Wednesday at Evergreen Hollow Park.
In the opening game of the evening, PAC beat Effingham Truck Sales 8-1. PAC stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead. Sidney Brumleve pitched a one-hitter. PAC had seven hits in the contest.
In the second game, Fonner Oral Surgery handed Barnes a 24-9 loss. Fonner tallied five in the first, nine in the second and finished out with 10 in the third. Kylie Oseland pitched a four-hitter.
Then in the championship game, PAC blanked Fonner 22-0. PAC had a 14-run fourth inning and had 19 hits in the game. Madison Cowman pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts. She also hit for the cycle and had a grand slam.
MacKenzie Wermert (PAC) was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. Madison Cowman (PAC) won the overall MVP award and for PAC. Katie Roberts (PAC) won the Sportsmanship Award. Winning awards for Fonner Oral Surgery were Hayley Ebbert (MVP) and Rianne Thies (Sportsmanship). Winning for Effingham Truck Sales were Kaitlyn Lybarger (MVP) and Abby Meinhart (Sportsmanship) and she also won over the overall Sportsmanship Award.
