Altamont Nabs One Win, Suffers Two Losses in Softball Tourney

NOBLE -- Altamont High School nabbed one win and suffered two losses in the Noble Softball Tournament Saturday. They were playing without their seniors who are on the senior trip.
Altamont fell to Edwards County (Albion) 14-1 in the opener. The Indians tallied a run in the first inning and that was it while Edwards County brought home eight in the first, four in the second and two in the third.
In the second contest, Altamont claimed a 14-3 victory over Vandalia. Vandalia held a 2-0 lead until the third when the Indians tallied seven runs and never looked back. Altamont had eight hits in the contest.
In the third game, Red Hill (Bridgeport) edged Altamont 7-6. Altamont tallied all six of its runs in the first inning.
