Wooden Shoes Blank Pana in Soccer, Altamont Falls

PANA -- Teutopolis High School traveled to Pana and handed the Panthers a 3-0 loss in soccer action Thursday.

Andy Mersman tallied the first goal and was assisted by Mitch Meinhart. The second goal went to Drew Kowalski with an assist by Justin Deters. Meinhart then had a solo goal on a one-on-one breakaway with the goalie.

 

At Altamont

In varsity action Thursday, Altamont dropped a 3-1 loss to Raymond Lincolnwood.

Raymond Lincolnwood took a 1-0 first half lead then pushed that to 2-0 to start the second half. Altamont's Parker Asplin came back with a goal to pull the Indians within 2-1 but Raymond Lincolnwood tallied a final goal.

Altamont had 12 shots, four on goal. Doty had eight saves. Raymond Lincolnwood had 20 shots, 11 on goal and three saves. The Indians drop to 0-9-1 on the season.

In junior varsity play, the two squads played to a 1-1 tie.  Raymond Lincolnwood took the lead but Jesus Flores scored to knot the score for the Indians. Altamont is now 1-2-1 on the season.
