TEUTOPOLIS -- Effingham High School fell to Teutopolis, 9-1 in soccer competition Monday.

The Hearts' lone goal came from Gerard Herrera on a nice break away.

"The defense played well but we struggled to secure the middle against T-town's strong movement," said EHS Coach Weston Peno.

Goals for the Wooden Shoes were two by Evan Waldhoff, Gavin Tegeler and Noah Runde and one each by Ethan Thoele and Josh Habing.

T-town improves to 10-2-1 on the season and is back in action Thursday at Centralia in a 4:15 p.m. varsity match with the junior varsity to follow.
