The U.S. women's soccer team wore their warm-up jerseys inside-out in protest Thursday night during the national anthems and team photo before their 3-1 win over Japan.

That hid the U.S. Soccer Federation crest, but allowed the stars for their four World Cup titles to be seen. They are involved in a gender discrimination suit against the USSF over higher pay for the men’s team, and in legal papers this week, the USSF claimed the women are less skilled and have less-demanding jobs.

USSF President Carlos Cordeiro apologized during the game for the language and announced a legal team shakeup.
