St. A, Altamont Nab Soccer Wins, T-town Ties

Effingham St. Anthony handed Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran a 4-0 loss in soccer competition Tuesday in celebration of Senior Night.

Reilly Ashton, a senior, had one goal, one assist and seven shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Luke Swingler had one goal, two assists and three shots on goal. Jack Elder, a senior, had two goals and five shots on goal.

Wade Lawrence had an assist.

 

At Altamont

Altamont blanked Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond by a 6-0 count Tuesday.

The Indians stepped out to a 2-0 first half lead. Donovan Delany and Sabashtin Thompson scored a goal each.

In the second half, Delaney tallied on an assist by Isaac Crow to make it 3-0. Delaney then picked up a hat trick with his third goal. Noah Klimpel scored and Kolby Brewer finished out with the sixth goal.

Altamont had 13 shots, 12 on goal. Kenny Robbins had five saves.

ALAH had five shots, five on goal and six saves.

Altamont now has a 7-9-2 record.

 

At Olney

Teutopolis tied Olney during its last regular season match Tuesday, 2-2.

Goals for the Wooden Shoes were scored by Linus Tanneryd and Jack Poelker.

T-town finishes the regular season with a 14-4-2 overall record and will play its first game of the regionals Tuesday, October 15 at 4:30 p.m. T-town is hosting the regional.
