Effingham dropped a tough soccer match to Mahomet-Seymour, 7-1 Tuesday.
Victor Carrillo had the lone goal with a place kick for the Hearts. Ethan Boggs had four saves and Francisco Guerrero two saves.
Mahomet-Seymour also claimed the junior varsity contest, 3-1. Macy Williams had the lone goal for Effingham. Brandon Duncan had five saves.
