Charleston defeated Effingham in soccer action Thursday 1-0. Ethan Boggs had seven saves for Effingham.
Charleston won the JV game 3-1. Jordan Cholula scored the Effingham goal, and Brandon Duncan had five saves.

Altamont moved back over .500 with a 3-0 win over Pana on Senior Night.
Donovan Delaney scored with 20:00 left in the first half, Jason Burns scored with 14:15 left in the second half, and Isaac Crow scored with 13:23 remaining for Altamont's goals. Quinn Verdeyen had 18 saves in goal.
Altamont seniors are Hayden Voelker, Niki Sharp, Jason Burns, Cody Sharp and Colby Antrim.
