Bulldogs Play to Tie, Altamont Wins in Soccer

CENTRALIA -- Effingham St. Anthony and Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran played to a 3-3 tie in soccer competition  Tuesday.

St. Anthony started the scoring in the first half as Quinton Milleville scored a header from a corner pass by Moises Lemus at the 32 minute mark. With 28 and 24 minutes left in the first half, CORL scored two goals from free kicks. With 14 minutes remaining, Luke Swingler scored a goal from a rebound shot to tie the score at 2-2.

CORL took a 3-2 lead with a minute left on a corner kick.

St. Anthony'sJack Elder had four saves.

In the second half, Swingler scored his second goal and tied the score at 3-3 with 35 minutes left. He scored on a pass from Braeden Quandt who had six shots at goal.

 

At Arthur

Altamont picked up a 1-0 victory over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in action Tuesday.

The lone goal of the contest came in the second half as Isaac Crow scored on an assist by Jason Burns.

Altamont had 22 shots, 10 on goal. Quinn Verdeyen had four saves.

ALAH had eight shots, four on goal and finished with nine saves.

Altamont now sports a 7-7-2 record.

In a junior varsity contest, Altamont claimed a 2-0 victory to improve to 5-2-1 on the season.
