Effingham St. Anthony and Decatur St. Teresa played to a 2-2 tie Wednesday evening in high school soccer competition.

St. Anthony took 18 shots and had 13 saves. Nick Nosbisch was named player of the game for the Bulldogs for rallying the team in the second half and scoring both goals.

"St.  Teresa came to play and moved the ball well," said St. Anthony Coach Scott Demers. "Our squad really changed our play the second half and made up for poor first half play. This is one tie I'd almost call a win."

The Bulldogs are now 3-5-2 on the season. St. Anthony returns to action Saturday playing a varsity only match at Centralia Christ Our Rock.

In junior vasrity play, St. Anthony edged out St. Teresa 1-0. Thomas Stephens scored the lone goal of the game and was named player of the game for getting eight shots on goal and nailing the game winner.

The JV squad is 2-2 and will be back in action Tuesday against Altamont.
