Leafs Clip Wings In Winter Classic At Michigan Stadium

(Ann Arbor, MI) -- Tyler Bozak scored the winning goal in the shootout as the Maple Leafs clipped the Red Wings 3-2 in the Winter Classic at snowy Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. An NHL-record 105,491 were in attendance to see the contest, surpassing the previous mark of 104,173 that watched Michigan play Michigan State in hockey in the Big House in 2010. Bozak and James van Riemsdyk both scored in regulation for Toronto, which has won three in-a-row.  Jonathan Bernier denied 41 shots plus two-of-three shootout attempts in the victory. Daniel Alfredsson and Justin Abdelkader both lit the lamp for the Wings, who have dropped two-of-three. Jimmy Howard had 24 saves in the setback.


Lightning Double Up Canucks

(Vancouver, British Columbia) -- Nikita Kucherov scored the eventual game-winner with three seconds left in the second period to help the Lightning score a 4-2 win over the Canucks in Vancouver. Valtteri Filppula and Tyler Johnson also lit the lamp in the second frame for Tampa Bay, which ended a two-game skid. Ben Bishop turned aside 28 shots for the victors.  Brad Richardson and Zac Dalpe scored for Vancouver, which has lost two straight. Eddie Lack stopped 29 attempts in the setback.


Blues Battle Kings

(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Blues battle the Los Angeles Kings tonight from the Scottrade Center. The Blues improved to 27-7-5 after defeating the Minnesota Wild 2-1 Tuesday. The Kings sit at 25-12-4 overall. This is the second of three meetings this season. The Kings won 3-2 in L.A. on December 2.


Blackhawks Hit The Road

(Uniondale, NY) -- The Chicago Blackhawks hit the road tonight at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum to take on the New York Islanders. The Blackhawks have won three-of-four heading in to improve to 28-7-7 on the year. New York is 13-21-7 overall. Chicago won 3-2 in the first meeting this season.


USA Hockey Roster Revealed

(Ann Arbor, MI) -- The United States men's Olympic hockey roster was revealed on Wednesday following the Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.  The 25-man squad features 13 players that lost to Canada in the gold medal game in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Kevin Shattenkirk, David Backes and T.J. Oshie will represent the Blues. Team USA plays its first game of the Sochi Olympics on February 13th against Slovakia.
