Penguins Slide Past Ducks

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- Brian Gibbons had a goal and assist to lift the Penguins to a 3-1 win over the Ducks at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Gibbons says it was great to score in his first NHL game.

Brandon Sutter also scored for the Pens while Sidney Crosby capped the scoring with his tenth goal of the year. Evgeni Malkin had a pair of assists and Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves as Pittsburgh won its second in three games following a three-game slide. Ryan Getzlaf lit the lamp for the 11th time this season in defeat for Anaheim. Viktor Fasth turned away 24 shots as the Ducks dropped their fourth straight following a five-game winning streak.

Bruins Weather Hurricanes

(Raleigh, NC) -- Carl Soderberg and Reilly Smith each had a goal and assist to lead the Bruins in a 4-1 win over the Hurricanes at PNC Arena. Johnny Boychuk tacked on a goal in the third while Milan Lucic sealed the scoring with a late empty-net tally for Boston. Tuukka Rask recorded 23 saves for the B's, who have won five out of six. Tuomo Ruutu scored his first goal of the year for Carolina's lone marker. Cam Ward turned away 26 shots in his return to the lineup as the 'Canes dropped their second straight and third in five games.

Calgary Flames Get Rebound Win

(Winnipeg) -- The Calgary Flames and goaltender Reto Berra needed a rebound game Monday night against the Winnipeg Jets, and they got just that in a 5-4 shootout win at MTS Centre. Flames coach Bob Hartley elected to start Berra again after a rocky outing Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers. The Jets poured 34 shots on Berra through the first two periods, while limiting Calgary to 15 shots. But Berra finished with 43 saves and the Flames survived losing four leads before Sean Monahan won the game in the eighth round of the shootout. The Flames snapped a six-game winless streak.

Blues Take On Buffalo

(Buffalo, NY) -- The Blues head to Buffalo tonight to take on the Sabres at the First Niagara Center. The 13-3-and-3 Blues look to get their dominant offense back on track after Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals. The Sabres hope to notch their third-straight home win.

Blackhawks To Sell Melted Ice From Title Run

(Chicago, IL) -- The Blackhawks are giving fans the chance to have a piece of the team's Stanley Cup run. The team will sell limited-edition vials of melted United Center ice for 99-dollars each on their website.  Each vial will include an etched number 1 through 2013 and proceeds will go to charity.

The Blackhawks take the ice in Denver tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. Chicago moved to 14-3-4 with Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Sharks. Colorado fell on Saturday to Florida and dipped to 14-5. The puck drops at 8 p.m. from the Pepsi Center.
