Blackhawks Beat Oilers

(Chicago, IL) -- Duncan Keith scored the eventual game-winner 13:39 into the third period as the Blackhawks held on for a 5-4 win over the Oilers at the United Center.  Bryan Bickell and Marcus Kruger also scored in the final frame for Chicago, which has won six-of-seven. Brandon Saad and Andrew Shaw scored earlier in the game for the 'Hawks. Corey Crawford made 19 saves in net for the victors. Devin Dubnyk stopped 31 shots in defeat. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Nail Yakupov lit the lamp in the second period in the setback. David Perron and Jordan Eberle both scored in the third for Edmonton, which has lost three straight.


Canadiens Double Up Isles

(Montreal, Quebec) -- Lars Eller and Alex Galchenyuk tallied a goal and two assists each as the Canadiens doubled up the Islanders 4-2 at the Bell Centre. Brendan Gallagher added a goal and a helper and Michael Bournival also lit the lamp for Montreal, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Carey Price made 24 saves in the victory. Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Brock Nelson both scored for the Isles, who have lost four in-a-row and six of their last eight overall. Kevin Poulin allowed all four goals on 31 shots in defeat.


Jets Best Sharks In Shootout

(Winnipeg, Manitoba) -- Andrew Ladd scored the only shootout goal and lifted the Jets to a 5-4 win over the Sharks at the MTS Centre. Ladd's goal offset a two-goal night for Dan Boyle of the Sharks. Winnipeg trailed 3-1 in the second period before goals for Dustin Byfuglien and Grant Clitsome tied it going into the third. Ladd's regulation tally with less than two minutes to play sent the game into overtime.  Ondrej Pavelec stopped 30 shots for Winnipeg and Antti Niemi had 42 for the Sharks. San Jose lost its fifth straight. The Sharks are 10-2-and-5.  The Jets improved to 8-9-2.


Avalanche Roll Past Caps

(Denver, CO) -- Gabriel Landeskog had a goal and an assist to lead the Avalanche to a 4-1 win over the Capitals at the Pepsi Center. Patrick Bordeleau, Nick Holden and P.A. Parenteau also lit the lamp for Colorado, which has won eight out of nine. Former Caps goalie Semyon Varlamov made 33 saves for the Avs in the win. Joel Ward had the lone goal for Washington, which has dropped back-to-back games since a four-game winning streak. Braden Holtby turned away 33 shots in defeat.


Devils Blank Predators

(Newark, NJ) -- Martin Brodeur stopped all 15 shots he faced as the Devils dropped the Predators 5-0 at the Prudential Center. This is the second shut out of the season and the 123rd of his career. Jaromir Jagr and Marek Zidlicky each had a goal and an assist for New Jersey, which has won two-of-three. Cam Janssen, Travis Zajac and Mattias Tedenby also scored in the win. Carter Hutton made 18 saves in net for Nashville, which has lost back-to-back games by 5-0 margins.


Rangers Edge Panthers

(New York, NY) -- Mats Zuccarello's power play tally in the third proved to be the game winner for the Rangers in a 4-3 win over the Panthers at Madison Square Garden.  Brad Richards, Derek Dorsett and J.T. Miller also scored for New York, which has won six out of seven. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 24 shots for the Blueshirts in the win. Brian Campbell tallied twice for Florida while Aleksander Barkov also lit the lamp in defeat. Tim Thomas turned away 25 shots as the Cats lost their ninth straight game.


Ducks Drop Canucks

(Anaheim, CA) -- Corey Perry posted a goal and an assist to help the Ducks drop the Canucks 3-1 last night at the Honda Center. Nick Bonino and Andrew Cogliano also lit the lamp for Anaheim, which improved to 15-3-1 on the season. Frederik Andersen made 35 saves for the win. The Ducks are at the Panthers Tuesday.
