Gordon Wins At Martinsville, Climbs Into Chase Race

(Martinsville, VA) -- Jeff Gordon won Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Martinsville and kept his hopes at winning a fifth championship alive. Gordon says he's so happy to finally be in victory lane this season.

The victory was Gordon's 88th in his career but his first since last year's finale at Homestead. Gordon jumped from fifth to third in the Chase standings and sits 27 points back of co-leaders Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson.  Kenseth currently holds the tiebreaker on Johnson with seven wins compared to five. The Chase has just three races remaining with action heading to Texas next week before trips to Phoenix and Homestead.
