Wild Beat Blues

(St. Paul, MN) -- Charlie Coyle scored the eventual game-winner 38 seconds into the third period as the Wild defeated the Blues 3-1 in St. Paul. Jaden Schwartz scored shorthanded midway through the final period for St. Louis, which dipped to 2-2. Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak combined to stop 20-of-23 shots. The Blues and Wild end the preseason Friday at the Scottrade Center.

 

Blackhawks Expect Hossa Back Today

(Chicago, IL) -- The Chicago Blackhawks expect forward Marian Hossa back in action today. He missed practice yesterday with an upper body injury. Hossa has missed all five Chicago preseason contests. Forwards Andrew Shaw and Michal Handzus practiced despite missing all preseason games so far. The Blackhawks battle the Capitals on Saturday to end the exhibition slate. The regular season starts October 1 against the Caps.
