Kyle Busch Outlasts Keselowski At The Glen

(Watkins Glen, NY) -- After having a win slip away from him the past two years at Watkins Glen, Kyle Busch held off Brad Keselowski during a two-lap shootout for the victory in Sunday's Cheez-It 355. Busch says this victory puts them in a good spot going forward.

Busch grabbed the lead during a round of pit stops late in the race and then survived a rash of accidents in the closing laps. Busch beat Keselowski to the finish line by just half-a-second for his third win of the season and the 27th of his Sprint Cup career. Keselowski finished second for the third straight year at Watkins Glen.  Martin Truex Jr. took third while Carl Edwards and Juan Pablo Montoya rounded out the top-five. Jimmie Johnson leads the Sprint Cup standings by 75 points over Clint Bowyer.

 

Stewart Released From Hospital

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is out of a hospital and resting comfortably following more surgery to repair his broken right leg  The three-time Sprint Cup champion broke his right leg in two places last Monday night at a sprint car race in Iowa. "Smoke" missed Sunday's race at Watkins Glen, snapping a streak of 521 consecutive Cup starts. It also dropped him six spots in the points standings to 17th. Max Papis drove Stewart's number-14 car and finished 15th.
