Pens Cruise Past Sens To Take 3-1 Series Lead
(Ottawa, Ontario) -- James Neal tallied two goals and an assist to lead the Penguins to a 7-3 rout of the Senators in Game Four of their Eastern Conference semifinal series in Ottawa. Jarome Iginla also scored twice, while Sidney Crosby and Pascal Dupuis had a goal and a helper each for the Pens, who take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven set. Tomas Vokoun made 30 saves in the victory. Crosby says they never thought this game would be a blowout.
Milan Michalek, Kyle Turris and Daniel Alfredsson all scored for the Sens, who were coming off a 2-1 overtime victory in Game Three on Sunday. Craig Anderson was lit up for six goals on 38 shots in 48-plus minutes of action. Robin Lehner stopped three-of-four shots the rest of the way. Game Five is Friday in Pittsburgh.
Canucks Fire Vigneault
(Vancouver, British Columbia) -- The Canucks have fired head coach Alain Vigneault. Vancouver was swept out of the postseason in the first round the last two years. He had guided the Canucks to the playoffs in all but one of his seven seasons in Vancouver. The Canucks lost in the Stanley Cup Finals following the 2010-11 season. Vancouver went 26-15-7 in the shortened 48-game season.
